About Chris King Bearings
At Chris King, every single bearing is designed, manufactured, and hand-assembled in-house to ensure complete quality control. Unlike standard radial bearings, Chris King uses sealed angular-contact bearings that allow for adjustment over time. Rather than wearing out, they wear in—getting smoother and faster with use. Additionally, all bearings are fully user-serviceable without special tools: simply remove the snap ring and seal, clean, and re-grease for a lifetime of smooth rolling.
RingDrive™ System
The RingDrive™ system consists of three core components: the Drive Ring, the Driven Ring, and the Driveshell (freehub). By moving the engagement mechanism inside the hubshell, it provides a larger contact area than traditional freehubs, distributing drivetrain torque far more effectively. Crafted from heat-treated stainless steel with 72 simultaneous points of engagement (45 points on R45 road hubs), RingDrive™ handles over 800 ft/lbs of torque load—over three times higher than other tested high-end hubs.
